Alcyoni is the moniker of London-based artist Bianca Chu whose practice weaves sound, research, writing and curation. The name Alcyoni evokes both yoni, the Sanskrit word for womb or source, and Alcyone, the Mother Star of the Pleiades, with whom her natal Moon is in a near-exact conjunction at 29° Taurus.
