Alcyoni is the moniker of London-based artist Bianca Chu. The name Alcyoni encodes a near-exact conjunction–separated by only 21 arcsecond–between her natal Moon (29° Taurus) to Alcyone, the Mother Star of the Pleiades, woven together with yoni, the Sanskrit word for womb or source.
Listening to dreams, the nocturnal, and the unseen as fields of liberation and communion, Bianca’s practice weaves devotional sound, mantra, field recording, medicine music, and experimental voice into improvised ritual performance. Rooted in Nāda Yoga and non-dual philosophies, she works with harmonium, Electro Harmonix 45000, and voice to craft sound as invocation: a bridge between heart-mind, embodiment, and vital energy.
